The "Blob" fly, a fusion of indicator, egg and attractor nymphs, broke out in UK managed fishing areas and Canadian lakes.



The effect produced by the combination of a core material called "gel," which becomes translucent when wet, and chenille, which produces minute waves in the water, is enough to cause trout on the bottom of ponds and even on 6-meter lines on clear lakes to rise to 3-meter lines or come out to the surface!

Up Avon, located in the Cotswolds, a region with many managed fishing areas, has created Pure Blob Fritz Chenille with a mix of colors that can be fished.


(1) Non-weighted... The hook's own weight makes it fall naturally. The thick-shafted "Do-Heek HDB Blob Hook" is recommended. In fishing areas where droppers are OK, it is recommended to set it on the top.

(2) Bead head - To appeal to large trout at the bottom of ponds or when you want to target trout settled below the 3-meter line in lakes. Use tungsten and brass beads.

(3) FAB...Abbreviation for Foam Arse Blob. Foam material is used for the tail and underbody, and is used as a booby fly. This is an essential pattern for a rig called a "washing line," in which a point fly is used as a booby fly and a nymph is attached to a dropper.
