This is a famous pattern that represents a caddis being swept away with the shuck (shell) trailing behind it.
To use this pattern, attach the floatan to the wing and hackle only,
and let it flow semi-submerged at the buttocks for best results.
The pattern is more effective when the buttocks are half-submerged.
Of course, if you apply the floatan firmly all around,
you can slide it on the surface of the water, or use it for fishing.
It can also be used for sliding on the surface of the water, after fishing, or for evening use.
If you cut the underside of the hackle into a V shape, you can use it to hatch mayflies and other fish on flat water
.
The hackle can also be used for hatching mayflies and other fish on flat water.

If you would like to have a hackle cut, please write "hackle cut desired" in the "Ordering Information" field.
