Double Twist Extension (DTE) is a solid wax for tying flies. Solid wax for tying. When using the Double Twist Extension (DTE) technique on thicker materials such as Shimazaki stretch bodies, heating and melting the wax will ensure that the wax is applied firmly and securely to the material. Thin 8/0 and 6/0 threads can be used as is. The wax will deform and harden when heated, but there is no problem with its use.
