Llama fiber (from Peru) is a dyed hair that is about 25 cm long and is softer than synthetic material without the waist.
The material is suitable for making flies no more than 12 to 3 cm in length and is not suitable for making large flies such as the Enrico Minnow. It is more suited for freshwater materials for fishing trout and other freshwater fish.
The texture of the material is animal hair, so it is not transparent, so it is suitable for making flies with a strong presence, and is good for leech patterns and small minnow imitations.
