This curve is one of the characteristic postures of aquatic insects that are about to hatch, and is also the image of the shrimp and caddis pupa. The 2487 is thin and light, while the 2457 is strong yet delicate. TMC has eliminated the 2487/2457 offset. TMC eliminated the offset on the 2487/2457 mainly to address the problem of the fly tilting in the water when used on immersersersers and soft hackles, but it also has the advantage of being easier to tie. The overall shape of the eye angle has been readjusted, resulting in rather better hooking/holding performance.
