. What is a modern trout reel? The Evolution series by ROSS was the definition of the modern trout reel. The Evolution has now become the Evolution LTX, combining the feel of the LT with the performance of the Evolution R. The long trusted ultra smooth drag of the LT has been taken to the next level by the ROSS engineering team. The fully sealed drag produces four times the drag strength of its predecessor, the LT, while inheriting the sound and feel of the Evolution.

The Lazy Arbor spool incorporates a revolutionary line channel (groove) to accommodate the arbor knot in the backing line, and boasts high strength and self-leveling capability on retrieve due to ROSS's unique bell shape. The handle is also machined from ROSS's own canvas phenolic rod, which is lightweight, durable, and provides a grip that does not deteriorate when wet. These improvements elevate the LTX to a level where it can compete not only as a trout reel, but also as a light saltwater reel. The LTX is the result of these careful design efforts and will redefine the trout reel.


The body and spool are machined in the USA from ROSS's proprietary 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. Oil-impregnated bronze bushings revolve around stainless steel spindles
