Naoto Shibuya's comment:
The NSF rods are made of glass, which is a material with a similar elasticity to bamboo.
That's why I decided to make it a little easier for people to use long rods.
To make it easier for people to understand the long tippet fishing I do, I designed a rod using graphite while keeping enough of its tasteful action. Furthermore, I feel that the 6-piece rod is very portable and is a versatile #3 rod for mountain streams. The rod feels like it is less than 8 feet long and has a semi-parabolic action with a good tip, just like our previous NSF series rods. Just by changing the material to graphite, a considerable amount of generosity in casting technique is created, which should be useful not only for first-time long tippet anglers, but also as a spare rod since it is reasonably priced. We highly recommend this rod to those who have found this type of fishing difficult. Although graphite, this rod is not too light and has a sense of torque, so anyone can make a boat-shaped loop if they follow some basics. We hope that as many people as possible will be able to feel how the loop can be used in actual fishing.
All accessories are included in the box.
"Many people choose dry fly fishing when they start fly fishing, but I've noticed that it's often done on smaller streams than I had imagined. Personally, I would like to recommend the long tippet system with LDL 15ft to those people, but it seems that many of them are not able to use it considering their tackle balance and casting skills. Even fly fishers with a certain level of skill often prefer a controllable length system such as LDL 13ft + tippet 4 to 6ft rather than a too long tippet system. With this system, the tippet portion is much longer, allowing the dry fly to drift naturally in small streams. The important thing is to be able to control the tippet slack and the shape of the presentation as you see fit.
The rod length was set to 7'7" when this model was developed, and it was found to be quite light and easy to fish in mountain streams and small streams. The action is not slow enough for long tippets, but medium slow enough for short tippets. The bending curve follows the conventional NSF series, but it can handle slow loops and narrow loops as well as fast line speed boat-shaped loops. In particular, the 6-piece construction makes it extremely portable and can be kept in a back pocket as a spare rod, making it ideal for headwaters fishing. Field tests were conducted mainly in headwaters, and I was able to fish with no difficulty even with an 18-ft rod, which is shorter than the system I usually use (21-22 ft.).
As an aside, fishing at the headwaters made me reaffirm my enjoyment of dry fly fishing.
They are not only for the fishing, but also for the enjoyment of the angler. It was a development test of the Infante 773-6NSF that made me realize that while of course it is fun to pursue landlocked salmon in the main stream, it is also fun to fish for char without the need for nervous fly selection." The 814-6 NSF is a larger fly for dry fly fishing. There are many situations when you want to use #4 line to enjoy dry fly fishing, such as using a larger fly or targeting rainbow trout. The Infante NSF814-6 has a powerful action while maintaining the lightness of the Infante NSF813-6. We tested the Infante NSF814-6 on rainbow trout in Hokkaido, and we were able to cast it well even with a voluminous caddis wrapped around a #4 hook, and landed several rainbow trout over 50 cm in length. I did not feel uneasy at all. Although the rod is lighter in weight than glass or bamboo, the entire rod bends smoothly and has enough torque. However, this rod is not exclusively for large rainbow trout. Because of its NSF action that bends firmly from the butt, it is recommended for mountain trout when using a large fly or when there is wind, as #4 line is reassuring and reassuring. The 6-piece rod is easy to carry and can be used as both a main rod for fishing expeditions and as a sub rod.
