CDC Black woodpecker

　It is known as an essential aquatic insect for matching the hatch in early spring.
If you have a hatch of black woodpeckers just after the ban is lifted and you are fishing mainly with midge flies, you're all set.

There are many situations where wildebeest and rockfish are jumping on the black woodpeckers as they drift downstream along the banks.

In situations where there are large numbers of kinglets, it is more effective to run a larger fly.
This fly has CDC under the realistic wings for good ventilation and plenty of buoyancy.
Medium or dark dun is the recommended color for the CDC.
If it is difficult to see in the field, choose white or light dun.
Floatant can be used in powder (including spray), liquid, and paste types.
